A LaunchIgniter alternative where the position outlasts the week and is priced, not voted

LaunchIgniter is a cheap, quick launch week. If you want seven days on a home page with a guaranteed Monday and a do-follow link, the $12 Basic Launch is about the least a booked launch costs anywhere, and the free route works if you can wait and will wear the badge.

If a week is not the shape of what you want, The Board lists a brand for a dollar on a page ordered by what each brand paid, keeps it there until somebody pays more, and has the traffic counted by Fathom in the open.

The Board is ours, so read this with that in mind. Every listing on it is a paid placement, its position is decided by money and by nothing else, and nothing on it is editorial. The figures for LaunchIgniter were read from its own pages on 6 September 2026 and are linked at the foot.

What LaunchIgniter is, and what it costs

LaunchIgniter is a weekly launch site. Every launch starts at 00:00 Monday UTC and sits on the home page for exactly seven days, the community upvotes it, and the three products with the most upvotes take a Winner badge for the week. Each product can be launched once. Its about page says the wider ranking also weighs comments, recency and community activity.

Three tiers, all on the pricing page on 6 September 2026. The Free Launch is $0, reviewed by hand and only approved if unique and high quality, on a waiting list of unstated length with a date that can move if the week is full, and it requires the LaunchIgniter badge on your home page. Basic is $12 once and Pro is $15 once; both skip the review, guarantee the date and carry a do-follow link, and Pro adds two links from sister sites. A sidebar slot on the home page is $30 a month, ten of them, position assigned in order. Nothing is refunded once activated, per the terms updated 4 September 2026.

The reach figures are its own: 11K+ monthly visitors, 2,550+ products launched and a 10,000+ maker community on the featured-placement page. No subscriber count is published and no per-launch figure. A zPlatform.ai review from 16 August 2026 put its organic search traffic at about 20 visits a month, which measures something narrower than the audience the site claims, and the gap between the two numbers is the one to ask about.

The price of a place, and the price of the top

Two prices matter: what it costs to be on the page at all, and what it costs to be the one everybody sees first. Drawn to scale, with The Board’s top spot read live from the board.

A log scale: every gridline is ten times the last, which is the only way a dollar and a five-figure sum fit on one line. Prices on the left are LaunchIgniter’s as read on 6 September 2026; the top spot on The Board is $101 as this page was built and changes as the board does.

How The Board works, for somebody leaving LaunchIgniter

A LaunchIgniter week is a booked slot with a start and an end; a spot on The Board has a start and no end. You pay a dollar, the listing is on the board at once with no Monday to wait for, and it stays at whatever rank a dollar buys until somebody pays more. There is no vote to win and no badge to put on your home page: a logo, a line and a link, and the amount is the rank.

Where LaunchIgniter's top three is decided by upvotes, rank 01 here is a dollar over whatever the holder paid, and every amount is printed on the page, so the cost of any position is read rather than campaigned for. Hold the top for thirty days and the season ends: the standings freeze on a permanent page and every amount resets. The page views and outbound clicks are Fathom's count on a public dashboard, not a figure typed into a pricing page.

Where LaunchIgniter falls short, and where it wins

Falls short
  • It is a week, and it is one week: each product can be launched once, so the home page is a slot you use up rather than a place you hold.
  • The free route is reviewed, waits an unstated time, may move its date and requires a badge on your site. The paid route drops all four for $12, which says what the free one is for.
  • The audience figures are the site's own, and the one outside measurement on record, about 20 organic visits a month per zPlatform.ai's August 2026 review, is a long way from them.
Wins
  • It is cheap for a booked launch. $12 for a guaranteed Monday and seven days on the home page undercuts most launch sites with a date to sell.
  • The link is real and lasts: a do-follow link on the paid tiers, and a free launch that finishes in the top three gets one too.
  • There is no curator on a paid launch. Pay and the date is yours, with the terms' general right to reject as the only gate.

Which to pick

Pick LaunchIgniter if
  • You want a launch week with a Monday you can plan around, for twelve dollars.
  • The do-follow link is a large part of what you are buying.
  • You have upvotes to bring and a Winner badge would earn its place on your site.
Pick The Board if
  • You want a position that does not end on Sunday night.
  • You want to price the position yourself rather than campaign for a week's votes.
  • You want the audience counted by somebody who is not selling the slot.

A listing is a logo, a line and a link. Rank 01 costs $1 more than whoever holds it, every amount on the page is public, and the traffic is on a Fathom dashboard anyone can open.

Questions people ask about a LaunchIgniter alternative

Is LaunchIgniter free?
The Free Launch is $0 on the pricing page (6 September 2026), and it comes with conditions: a manual review that only approves unique, high-quality products, a waiting period of unstated length, a date that can move if the week is full, and the LaunchIgniter badge on your home page. The $12 Basic Launch removes all four.
Is there a free LaunchIgniter alternative?
Several. Peerlist Launchpad is free and weekly, Dev Hunt is free for developer tools, Show HN is free for anything that can be tried without a signup, and LaunchIgniter's own free tier costs nothing if you can wait and wear the badge. The Board is a dollar, and the dollar buys a position that stays until somebody pays more.
Is The Board a LaunchIgniter alternative?
For being seen by people who watch brands, yes, and the shape is different. LaunchIgniter sells a launch week ranked by upvotes; The Board is a public leaderboard where every listing is a paid placement, the position is decided by what each brand paid, and it lasts until somebody pays more. One is a week, the other is a place.
What does The Board cost compared to LaunchIgniter?
LaunchIgniter is free after a review, $12 for a Basic Launch and $15 for Pro, per its pricing page on 6 September 2026, with a sidebar slot at $30 a month. A listing on The Board is $1, taking rank 01 costs $1 more than the holder paid, and every amount on the page is public. Nothing bills again.
How much traffic does LaunchIgniter send?
It does not say per launch. Its own pages claim 11K+ monthly visitors and a 10,000+ maker community; a zPlatform.ai review from August 2026 measured about 20 organic search visits a month, which is a narrower thing. The Board makes no claim and publishes its Fathom dashboard, so the number is there to read before you pay.
Do I have to show the LaunchIgniter badge?
On a free launch, yes: the pricing page says free launches require the badge on your product's home page, checked by a crawler, with a manual path if Cloudflare blocks it. Paid launches do not. The Board has a badge too, which shows your live rank and carries rel=sponsored, and nothing on The Board requires it.
What happens when somebody outbids me?
Your listing moves down one place and stays on the board; the amount you paid never goes down. You get one mail saying who passed you and what taking the position back would cost, and you can raise by any whole-dollar amount or leave it. There is no relaunch and no second week to buy: waiting costs nothing.
Can other brands damage my listing?
Yes, and it is part of the game. Anyone can buy one of four kinds of sabotage against a listing, which changes how it looks or whether its link works for a few hours, never what it paid or its real rank. Every kind wears off on its own, you can clear it early or buy protection ahead of time, and nobody is told who attacked whom.
Do I get a backlink from The Board?
Not one to buy the listing for. LaunchIgniter sells its do-follow link and says so; The Board's outbound links go through a counted redirect, and the badge you can embed carries rel=sponsored, which is what an honest paid placement has to do. Buy the position for the people who see it and click it, both of which are counted and shown.
